SEN Teaching Assistants | Corby


Do you want to make a difference in the lives of children? We at Textbook Teachers are looking for dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to help support schools in Corby and the surrounding areas (NN14, NN15, NN16, NN17, NN18). This is on a flexible supply basis in a range of educational settings.

This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

About This Role


As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely alongside class teachers to support the learning, development, and wellbeing of pupils across a wide range of abilities. In addition, you will play a key role in adapting activities where necessary to meet individual needs. Furthermore, by providing one-to-one and small group support, you will help pupils build confidence, develop key skills, and ultimately reach their full potential.

 

Key Responsibilities


Assisting students with additional learning, emotional, or behavioural needs, while adapting support strategies to meet each student’s individual requirements. Additionally, providing support for pupils’ educational and social development on a one-to-one basis or in small groups. Working closely with teachers to help deliver high-quality lessons and contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment, while also supporting the management of classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policy. Furthermore, preparing fun and engaging learning materials and resources to enhance pupils’ learning experiences.

 

What we’re looking for:


– Applicants must have at least six months’ experience working with children in a school or similar environment.

-Experience or knowledge of supporting SEN pupils or vulnerable individuals is highly desirable.

– A calm, caring, and patient manner is essential, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

-A solid understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to best practice are required.

-The ability to be flexible, positive, and able to adapt to a range of situations to support children effectively.

 

DBS checks as well as other mandatory checks will be made by Textbook Teachers prior to work.
