Who are Textbook Teachers?
Textbook Teachers are working closely with a number of local schools in Peterborough and the surrounding areas, and we’re on the lookout for SEN Teachers to teach children in the classroom and help them reach their full potential. With over 24 years of experience, we support schools with both short-term and long-term needs. Whether you’re looking to pick up a few days of supply work or searching for the perfect long-term role, we’re here to help every step of the way.
The Role:
As a SEN Teacher, no two days are ever the same. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and inclusive lessons that meet the diverse needs of pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.
You may be working within a specialist provision, SEND school, or mainstream setting supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, social, emotional and mental health needs, and moderate learning difficulties.
You will work closely with teaching assistants, SENDCos, senior leaders, and external professionals to create tailored learning experiences that help pupils achieve their full potential. Additionally, building strong relationships, adapting learning materials, and creating a positive classroom environment will be key to your success in this role.
What We’re Looking For:
- – Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is preferred, although unqualified teachers with relevant SEND experience may be considered
- – Experience working with children with additional needs is highly desirable
- – A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach
- – Strong classroom management and communication skills
- – A passion for supporting children with SEND and helping them thrive
- – A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
