Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Bank Staff Teaching Assistant to support educational staff across various settings. This role involves working with children, including those with special educational needs and disabilities, to create a positive learning environment. The successful candidate will assist in delivering classroom support, mentoring students, and promoting inclusive education. This position offers flexible hours and provides valuable experience within the education sector.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom teachers by assisting with lesson delivery and behaviour management
• Work directly with children, including those with autism and other disabilities, to promote engagement and learning
• Provide one-to-one tutoring and mentoring to students requiring additional assistance
• Support students during activities, breaks, and transitions to ensure safety and inclusion
• Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages student participation and confidence
• Communicate effectively with pupils, teachers, and parents to support student progress
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding policies at all times

Experience

• Previous experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is desirable
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or special educational needs is advantageous
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with young people and team members
• Worked in the care home sector, supporting individuals with complex needs and behaviours, developing strong skills in empathy, behaviour management, and safeguarding.
